Dayê Kinê, a Yazidi woman from Şengal, condemned the Iraqi forces' attacks on Şengal, saying that “We, Yazidis, will never surrender to them, our gains are our red line.”

“The enemy is threatening us in our hometown. The Iraqi government has forced us today to evacuate our houses. We will not leave our homes even if they crash through our bodies” Dayê Kinê said.

“We will never renounce our values and gains that we have achieved with the blood of our children. Today, they are attacking our security forces, Şengal Resistance Units (YBŞ) and Şengal Women’s Units (YJŞ). Here, the Iraqi flags are displayed in all our institutions, but they are attacking us by waving the Iraqi flag. We think that they are our government, but they are fighting us. We do not want to fight the Iraqi government. However, whoever attacks us, we will resist and fight them.”

The woman stressed that the entire Yazidi people stand by their military and security forces. “Our military forces are protecting us, and we will protect them back. As the Yazidi people, we are ready to take up arms. We will not bow to anyone. The whole world should know this: the Yazidis are honourable people. We will never back down and will not surrender. We will never beg forgiveness from anyone,” she added.

OUR GAINS ARE OUR RED LINE

Dayê Kine pointed out that the gains they achieved were their red lines and called on the Yazidi people to resist against the attacks in order to protect their achievements.

“I am calling out to all the honourable and virtuous Yazidis; war is at our door. All Yazidis, children, old people and women who are staying in these mountains, should stand against the attacks. They should protect their military forces and their children until these betrayers retreat. If I die, I will die with my honour and dignity. Just as our religion is our red line and we never abandon it; YBŞ, YJŞ, security forces are also our red line. We will win, the Yazidis will never be defeated,” she concluded.
