Ongoing attacks by state forces in Amed's Sur district cause further casualties as a state of siege continues in its 49th day.

The popular resistance against the military aggression also endures, not allowing state forces to make advance into the neighborhoods which are therefore heavily shelled with tanks and heavy arms.

As the areas of self-rule have remained under an uninterrupted aggression today, co-chair of DBP's (Party of Democratic Regions) Bağlar branch, Reyhan Kavak, was shot in the back and got heavily wounded in Hasırlı neighborhood late Tuesday evening. While Kavak is reported to be suffering blood loss and internal bleeding, residents are trying to treat her through their own means.

It has been reported that Kavak has been in Sur since 11 December when the siege was ceased, and couldn't leave the district after the beginning of another curfew.
