A group of DBP, HDP and DTK executives have started vigil in Amed in protest at the siege and onslaught ongoing in the central Sur district for 23 days.

DTK (Democratic Society Congress) co-chair Selma Irmak, DBP (Party of Democratic Regions) co-chair Emine Ayna and several HDP deputies are joining the vigil at Dicle Fırat Cultural Centre in Balıkçılarbaşı vicinity located outside the curfew area in Sur.

The Kurdish politicians said they will continue the vigil until the siege and aggression in Sur is ended, adding; “We will resist here as long as the resistance in Sur continues.”

People have also started to gather at Dicle Fırat Cultural Centre to support the vigil of their representatives.
