DBP Suruç district co-chairs detained due to a banner unfurled for Öcalan

DBP Suruç district organisation co-chairs were detained on the grounds of a banner which read “Isolation is a crime against humanity” against the isolation of Abdullah Öcalan.

DBP Suruç district organisation co-chairs Mehmet Kaplan and Rojda Binici were joining the Freedom Vigil to protest the AKP's isolation policy against Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Kaplan and Binici were taken into custody late Thursday evening on the grounds of a banner unfurled during the vigil, which read “Isolation is a crime against humanity, your health is our health”.

The district co-chairs were taken to Suruç police directorate.
