Cumhuriyet, Güngör and Kuruköy (Maxsudava) neighborhoods had been laid to ruin by Turkish state forces during the 79 day long curfew declared on March 13, 2016 in Hakkari’s Gever (Yüksekova) district. Demolition had paused in these neighborhoods due to winter conditions and now it has started again.

The houses that don’t have the sign saying “This house is involved in a court case” posted on them are being demolished. Gever residents had started repairing their damaged homes and are protesting their homes being demolished again now.
