DİHA reporter jailed for sharing content on social media

DİHA’s Tekman reporter Doğan Akdamar was charged with ‘propagating for an organization’ for the content he shared on social media, and got jailed for 1 year and 3 months.

Tekman Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office charged DİHA reporter Doğan Akdamar with ‘propagating for an organization’ for the content he shared on social media, and Hınıs Criminal Court jailed Akdamar for 1 year and 3 months.

The content Akdamar got jailed for were DİHA news articles, photos of Sakine Cansız who was massacred in Paris and Azadiya Welat employee Kadri Bağdu who was massacred in Adana, and the comment ‘We condemn Suruç massacre.’

Akdamar will challenge the court decision through his lawyer.
