We stayed with guerrilla forces in many regions of the Botan war; in Besta, Kêla Memê, Gabar and Herekol mountains. We also had contacts with guerrilla forces living and fighting in the Cûdi and Kato regions.

Commander Nujîn Sêrt, one of the guerrillas who made mountain tops a freedom site, says that their only goal in 2020 is to break the isolation on the Leader Abdullah Öcalan and to liberate their country. She emphasizes that no matter how much the price might be paid for this, the price will be paid and success will definitely be achieved. She also noted that there are guerrilla forces ready for the new war style. Since the spring, the guerrillas in Besta have frustrated the Turkish army’s entire war concept in the region by developing actions against the Turkish army.

GABAR

The Gabar guerrilla inflicted a heavy blow on the Turkish troops with sabotage actions three days ago. One of the guerrillas said; "You know, if we see soldiers, we will fight, but we are almost on the hunt for soldiers. It is not very likely that a soldier trapped in his police station will breathe comfortably in Kurdistan. We will expel them from this country.”

KÊLA MEMÊ AND HEREKOL

Kêla Memê and Herekol guerrillas continued their actions throughout the year with the promise of loyalty to their great commanders Azîme, Zelal, Brusk, Berxwedan and Yekbûn. The guerrillas placed explosives in the places where the soldiers passed, creating a great fear in the Turkish troops.

In response to Turkey’s media reports ‘We destroyed their headquarters in Herekol, we did not leave anyone alive in Kêla Memê", guerrilla Nûda Sümbül said the following:

"If there is any truth in these reports, who carried out the actions on the Pervari and Uludere roads throughout the year? Who destroyed dozens of armored vehicles together with dozens of soldiers inside? Who is organizing the actions against the soldiers smashed in armored vehicles in an area where the guerrilla is not present? Or is the state killing its own soldiers? The public wonders and asks, of course. The essence of the war in the mountains of Kurdistan must be known.”

CUDÎ

While the Turkish army focused almost entirely on the Cûdî region, it received the biggest blow here. ‘We will have a picnic here in a few months'. In response to these words from the Turkish army, a YJA STAR guerrilla said that “They say they will have a picnic on our Cûdî mountain. We are here and as long as we are here, every picnic attempt you will make will be covered in soldiers’ blood, for your information!"

KATO

Blond İbrahim, one guerillas in the Kato region forces, who started the year with effective and tactical actions and literally started the war in Botan, said, "We have achieved success in these mountains with costs. Death means the emergence of new and free lives for us, fighters. Let the enemy know well that as long as the Apoist fighters are here, these lands are a forbidden zone for the occupying Turkish state.”
