Eight people have been detained in Siirt early this morning as police forces have conducted simultaneous raids on offices of DBP (Party of Democratic Regions), IHD (Human Rights Association) and MEYADER (Mesopotamia Association of Assistance and Solidarity for Families with Lost Relatives) and houses of many executives of political parties and institutions.
IHD Siirt branch chair Zana Aksu, IHD executive Azat Taş, DBP Siirt branch executives Selman Erdemci and Refik Kaçar, HDP members Mesut Danış and Serhat Aksum, BDP provincial executive Kadriye Cengiz and Ekrem Tatlı have been detained in the operation so far.
Police continue searching in the institutions and houses while at the same time preventing access to the offices targeted in the operation.
Arriving at the building where the raided institutions are located, HDP Siirt deputy Hatice Seviptekin told that she was denied permission to see the search and arrest warrant by police, from whom she asked for the documents.
