Guerrillas continue inflicting heavy blows on the Turkish army that has been conducting an invasion operation in the guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq) since April 17.
The Press Office of the People’s Defense Forces (HPG) released a statement announcing the details of an action carried out by guerrillas of the Free Women’s Troops (YJA Star).
According to the statement, female guerrillas targeted a group of Turkish forces in the Werxele area in Avashin region on April 26 morning.
Eight soldiers were killed and two others injured as a result of the strikes by guerrillas, the statement said.
