In the first day of the genocidal attacks in Silopi, 8 people have lost their lives, 2 of them were elderly and another 2 were children. The fact that the houses are being hit with artillery shells even though it is known that the people are still in their homes, brings to mind Erdoğan’s directions.
Genocidal attacks continue nonstop in Şırnak’s Silopi district for two days. 8 people were killed in the genocidal attacks in one day, 2 of them around 70 years of age and 2 children. It is apparent that in the district where the severity of the massacre increases, Erdoğan’s directions to “tear the town down and displace the people” and his statements that they “can go the route of total evacuation of operation grounds and remote demolition of the unusable buildings” are being put into practice. That the houses are being targeted even though it is known that civilians still live in them leaves no other option to be considered.
The names of people killed in the bombings of the state forces in Silopi are as follows:
- 30 years old İsa and Saadettin Tonguç, Muhyettin Tonguç (35) and Ahmet Tonguç (72) have been killed as a result of an artillery shell hitting their home with 20 people inside in Barbaros neighborhood.
- In another house in Barbaros neighborhood, Zülfiye Şalk (70) lost her life due to the bombing and her 2 year old granddaughter Esra Şalk was seriously wounded. Esra (2) died in the private hospital she was taken to in Batman.
