Late Tuesday evening, Turkish airstrikes targeted the rural areas of Rêkan and Nerwê villages in Sheladize, Amadiya and the rural areas of the Horê village in Avashin region of Medya Defense Zones in Southern Kurdistan territory.
At least 10 local people lost their lives in the attacks and the regional government of Hewler is yet to speak or make an official statement on the deadly aggression by the Turkish state on Southern Kurdistan soil.
Bodies of the 4 people killed in the countryside of Amadiya were retrieved by the locals from their vineyards where they were shelled and killed by Turkish warplanes, and taken to the hospitals around.
Relatives of the slain civilians, who will be laid to rest following official procedures, condemned the Erdoğan regime of Turkey and the regional government that maintains its silence on Turkish attacks.
An inhabitant of the Rekan village who went to the scene of the attack to retrieve the bodies, stated that Turkish warplanes are constantly bombing the surroundings of their villages.
The Rekan resident highlighted that not every person living in this region has paid job and people are engaged in farming to earn a living, and continued; “Those killed here are villagers who were going to their village to meet their daily needs. Unfortunately, Erdoğan’s warplanes bombed and killed them. As you see, this many people are here to retrieve the bodies. We condemn the attacks. The Rekan and Doski areas have been bombed several times and are still under bombardment.”
Bodies of the slain villagers were taken from their vineyards by the local people, and taken to hospitals in ambulances.
The people called on the Southern Kurdistan regional government to not remain silent on Turkey’s attacks.
