An explosion followed by clashes took place at the Kemere Bel police checkpoint that had been set up in Dersim city center for the control of Munzur Valley between Dersim city center and Ovacık district.

Many ambulances and armored vehicles arrived at the scene of the explosion, and Turkish soldiers and police officers besieged Dersim State Hospital.

Dersim-Ovacık road has been closed down and local sources report that many people died and got injured during the explosion and the clashes at Kemere Bel checkpoint.
