Eye witnesses: Villagers were shot by a drone

A Turkish drone attacked four Kurdish villagers, killing one and wounding three others witnesses say.

An armed drone of the Turkish army attacked four Kurdish villagers in Kaniyareş region of Hakkari province. One villager was killed and three others were wounded in the attack.

In the Kaniyareş region affiliated to Ezîzan of Hakkari's Oglu (Tale) village local villagers were targeted by armed drones and 4 civilians got injured. Mehmet Temel was taken to Hakkari's state hospital, where he lost his life. Other civilians Ismail Aydin, Ibrahim Sak and Musa Tarhan are still under treatment in the hospital.

"THEY WERE LYING AROUND ON THE STREET"

An eye witness, who was one of the first to reach the site after the attack said "After the explosion I rushed from the village to Hakkari. Gravely injured Musa and Ibrahim was able to reach from Kanîreş to the village. They said that Mehmet and Ismail have been killed. When I reached the site, Mehmet and Ismail were drenched in blood. I carried both to the backside of Mehmet's car and drove them to the hospital."

"THE PEOPLE IN THE AREA WERE ALL CIVILIANS"

Another eye witness who went to the scene stated: "When we went to the scene Mehmet was lying on the ground motionless. There were only two wounded people. Two others were missing. Those wounded persons were all dressed in civilian clothes anyway. At the scene there were only traces of explosions. Those that are attributed to armed drones."

"MY SON WAS A CIVILIAN"

Mehmet Temel's mother Sima Temel went after the incident to the village and stressed that her son was a civilian and only came to the village to pick her up, but was shot at by drones. Mother Temel recalled the incident as follows: "My son came in the afternoon to pick me up. We would have gone together to Van and visit his father, who is in prison. I told him that I would come to him in the afternoon with a taxi, but he replied: 'I will go with some friends to Kaniyareş and have a picnic there, have there and return afterwards to the city.' I was praying and I heard explosions. When we rushed out I found my son soaked in blood. The drones had shot my son."
