Êzîdîs in Rojava cross into Shengal for solidarity against attacks

Êzîdîs living in Hesekê region of Rojava have crossed into Shengal region through the Holê border in solidarity with the Shengal people and YBŞ/YJŞ forces resisting the KDP-AKP gangs.

Hundreds of Êzîdîs living in Hesekê region of Rojava have left for Shengal with a long convoy in the early morning hours to support the Shengal people and YBŞ/YJŞ (Shengal/Women's Defense Units) against the attacks of the armed groups backed by South Kurdistan's KDP and Turkey's AKP.

"We condemn the AKP/KDP gangs' attack on Shengal" and "We support the YBŞ/YJŞ resistance" read the banners they unfurled alongside the flags of YBŞ/YJŞ.

Hesekê House of Êzidîs Association member Farûk Tozo stated that their purpose was to voice their support with the Shengal people and to give a message to the KDP forces and gangs that they will never accept these attacks. "We will go to the areas where tension continues, and express our support to the Shengal resistance", he added.

Armed groups affiliated with South Kurdistan's KDP and Turkey's AKP launched an attack on Shengal's Khanasor town on March 3, in response to which locals took up arms and rose up while YBŞ/YJŞ responded to the aggression after their efforts to hinder a fighting failed.
