The YBŞ fighters who died in the explosion of a mine left behind by the ISIS in Shengal have been buried.
The two fighters of the Shengal Resistance Units (Yekîneyên Berxwedana Şengalê, YBŞ) killed on Monday by the detonation of a mine in Til Ezer have been laid to rest today. Many people from the region attended the military ceremony organized by YBŞ, the women's units YJŞ and the Êzîdxan-Asayish (Yazidi Land Security).
The two martyrs were named as Khaled Hasan (Serhad Elzero) and Haydar Nayif (Serhildan Elzero), while three other people were also injured in the explosion of a mine laid by the terrorist militia ISIS in the village of Til Ezer. They are still being treated in a hospital, no further information on their condition is available at the moment.
The funeral of the martyrs took place at the martyrs’ cemetery "Şehîd Dilgeş û Şehîd Berxwedan" on Mount Shengal. YBŞ commander Dijwar Feqîr and Şemo Xwedêda from the Council of the Martyrs’ Families held speeches in which they expressed their condolences to the bereaved and thanked the martyrs who had dedicated themselves to the defense of Êzîdxan ("Land of the Yazidis").
After the reading of the death certificates, Khaled Hasan and Haydar Nayif were laid to rest under slogans.
Til Ezer
Til Ezer was captured by the ISIS during their onslaught on Shengal in August 2014 and was later liberated by the Iraqi military and the Shiite militia Hashdi al-Shaabi. A year and a half ago, Til Ezer's control was handed over to the Autonomous Council of Shengal and the local defence forces.
