Tuz Khurmatu is a cosmopolitan district where Kurdish, Arab, Turkmen, Shia and Sunni people live together. Kurds living in Tuz Khurmatu participated in the patriotic and Kurdistan struggle. Şînyar's family is a family that witnessed the Anfal and took part in the Kurdistan resistance.

Şînyar's father, Kawa Mihyedin, joined the resistance at a young age and became a peshmerga. Şînyar understood the reality of her country at a young age, and got to learn about the PKK and Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Father Kawa Mihyedîn spoke about the life of martyr Şînyar: "After the fall of Saddam regime, we returned from Sulaymaniyah to Tuz Khurmatu in 2004. Şînyar completed her education until elementary and second grade high school in Tuz Khurmatu. We moved to Sulaymaniah where she started from third grade. She was a clever girl. When you talked to her, you felt like you were chatting with an adult person. In Sulaymaniah she got to know the PKK and President Apo (Abdullah Öcalan) deeper.”

Kawa Mihyedin continued: “Şînyar first wanted to join the PKK in 2012, but because she was young, the friends did not accept her. She trained and joined the guerrilla on 30 July 2015. Şinyar was the first child in the house. Her national feelings were very strong. She had a special love for the guerrillas, she was proud of them."

Stating that Martyr Şînyar was influenced by the fighters who carried out self-sacrifice actions, Kawa Mihyedîn added: "I did not think Şînyar would join the guerrilla because she was young. She was sent back but Şînyar was always interested in the Kurdish and Kurdistan issue, she knew and understood the PKK very well.

She was researching everything. She knew the martyrs most. Şînyar especially dealt with the martyrs who carried out self-sacrificing actions. Şînyar's martyrdom affected our relatives and those around us. She fell martyr fighting the invading enemy. We are proud of her. I wish I could one day fight against the enemy on the mountain like Şînyar."
