The indefinite-irreversible hunger strike launched by 50 Kurdish volunteers in DBP (Democratic Regions' Party) Amed headquarters with demand of an urgent meeting with Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan continues on its fifth day.
Visits to the participants of the hunger strike are allowed from 10:00 in the morning to 21:00 in the evening.
A number of politicians, artists and locals visited the hunger strikers in addition to their families throughout yesterday.
Hundreds of people including Amed Peace Mothers, ESP members, Syriac representatives, officials from DBP, HDP and non-governmental organisations gathered in front of the Cegerxwin Cultural Centre and marched to the DBP headquarters to visit the hunger strikers yesterday, chanting slogans “Biji Serok Apo” [Long Live Leader Apo], “Bê Serok Jiyan Nabe” [No Life Without The Leader].
Visitors also wrote their messages on the "Notes to the Island" guest book placed at the door of Vedat Aydın Conference Hall in DBP headquarters.
