A field fire broke out in the morning in the village of Kabakaya in Amed’s (Diyarbakır) Lice district.

Due to unfavorable wind conditions, the fire spread very quickly and could be extinguished after a few hours thanks to the efforts of local people and the fire department. The flames destroyed about 15 hectares of arable land.

While the cause of the fire is still unclear, a local resident said that it should be examined if there is a targeted arson in question as is the case in South Kurdistan and Rojava where deliberate fires are started by Turkish soldiers or occupation forces.
