Turkish troops at the Gendarmerie Commando Battalion in Görümlü town of Şırnak are conducting artillery attacks on Mount Cudi in Şırnak countryside for two days.
The shelling started a fire in the areas of Deriyê Cibrail and Sefine yesterday, that spread to the areas of Sorbitme and Gire Çolya today. The fire, in which hundreds of trees have burned to ashes, spreads towards the village of Hesena (Kösterli).
Dark billows of smoke cover the scene, but no measures have been taken yet to put the raging fire out, and shelling from the military base continues.
