Female guerrillas carried out an effective operation to mark 8 March, International Working Women's Day in the Metina region of guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq).
Gerîla TV published footage from the YJA Star guerrillas' action in Metîna on March 6, in which two Turkish soldiers were killed, one military position was demolished, and one grenade launcher was destroyed.
The HPG (People’s Defense Forces) Press Center detailing the action stated the following:
"As part of the Cenga Xabur Revolutionary Campaign, in the Metina region, on March 6, at 13.00, the invaders stationed in the Girê Azad strait were hit by our YJA Star troops with heavy weaponry.
As a result of this action which targeted the invaders’ bomb launcher position, at least two invaders were killed, one position and one grenade launcher weapon were destroyed.
Our YJA Star forces carried out this effective operation to mark 8 March, International Working Women's Day."
