Forced court appearance ruled for two HDP parliamentarians for Van

Court ruled that HDP Van parliamentarians Adem Geveri and Lezgin Botan forcibly appear in court for a postponed hearing on January 27.

The first hearing of the case filed by Van Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office against HDP Van MPs Adem Geveri and Lezgin Botan was held in Van 2nd High Criminal Court today without the presence of the two parliamentarians whose lawyers attended the hearing.

Botan and Geveri are accused of “spreading propaganda for a terrorist organization, openly provoking criminal acts, being a member of an armed terrorist organization, and disrupting the unity of the state.”

The court postponed the hearing to January 27, 2017, and ruled forced court appearance for Botan and Geveri.
