According to local sources, Turkish army started a large-scale operation against Kurdish guerrillas in Munzur and Pulumur valleys. Forest fires started in four different spots after the military retreated from the area.

Forest fires effect Bali Stream, Pulumur Valley, Uzuntarla village and Dokuz Kayalar region.

Turkish soldiers prevented people from putting the flames out as most of the region is declared Special Security Area by Turkish governor.
