Four Turkish soldiers killed in guerrilla actions

In the embattled guerrilla area of Heftanin in Southern Kurdistan, a Turkish soldier has been shot dead by a sniper of the women's guerrilla force YJA-Star. In Xakurke, guerrillas destroyed a military position.

The guerrilla resistance against the Turkish invasion in Southern Kurdistan continues undiminished. According to the Press Office of the People's Defense Forces (HPG), at least four more soldiers of the Turkish army have been killed in the last 24 hours. The balance sheet on the war in the Medya Defense Zones published on Sunday, also includes further Turkish air attacks.

Military position destroyed in Xakurke

Guerrillas carried out an action on Saturday as part of the revolutionary offensive in Xakurke in memory of Şehîd Bager and Şehîd Ronya. A Turkish military unit stationed on the Koordine Hill in the area of Şehîd Beritan was effectively struck by guerrillas and one military position was completely destroyed. Three soldiers were killed in the action which was dedicated to guerrilla commander Agit Garzan and the two commanders of the Iraqi Border Guard Battalion who died in a Turkish drone attack in the region on August 11.

Action by YJA-Star

Guerrillas carried out another action against Turkish troops yesterday as part of the guerrilla offensive "Cenga Heftanîn" in the region of the same name. According to the statement, a soldier stationed in the area of Şehîd Şîlan was shot dead by a sniper of the women's guerrilla force YJA-Star.

Air raids

The HPG statement also reported a series of Turkish air attacks on Southern Kurdistan: "On 22 August, Turkish fighter jets bombed the area of Dola Kunişka in the Zap region three times between 13.40 and 13.55 local time. As a result of the attacks, a wildfire developed.

Two air raids were carried out on the Rostê plateau in the Xakurke region at 14:30 on August 22.

HPG added that there were no casualties in their ranks as a result of the attacks.
