Gerîla TV has released footage from an action in which guerrillas targeted the soldiers on a hill in Besta region of Şırnak on September 26.

HPG had said the followings regarding this action in its statement on September 27:

“The Turkish army had been constructing a military road between Şırnak and Van in order to strengthen its occupation of Besta region and construct new military bases. Guerrillas had carried out different actions against the soldiers in this region, however the road construction efforts continued with the support of soldiers specifically assigned by the governor of Şırnak.

To commemorate Bahoz Arya (Adıl Brukimilan) and other comrades that had fallen as martyrs, guerrillas launched a revolutionary operation against the soldiers in this region on September 26. Guerrillas carried out an action targeting the Turkish army positions between Çelê Nımeja and the Şırnak Division from two directions at 14:10, and all of these positions were destroyed in the action. 17 soldiers were killed and many guns were seized during the clashes here.

Simultaneously, the Çelê Nımeja division was shelled and many construction vehicles were heavily damaged by guerrillas. Turkish troops randomly bombarded the region after the guerrilla action, and many ambulances as well as armored and civilian vehicles were used to retrieve the bodies of dead and injured soldiers. One guerrilla fell as martyr during the revolutionary operation in Şırnak.”
