Gerîla TV releases footage of action which left 13 soldiers dead in Girê Amediyê Resistance Area

Guerrillas continue inflicting blows on the Turkish army that has been conducting an invasion operation in the guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq) since April 17.

The online portal Gerîla TV has published footage from the ongoing resistance of the guerrilla forces against the Turkish invasion of the Medya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq).

Detailing the action, the People's Defense Forces (HPG) Press Center stated the following:

“At 22:00 on July 6, a Turkish unit moving with dogs towards a guerrilla position was ambushed and attacked from two flanks at 23:20. Thirteen soldiers were killed and two others wounded as a result of the action. The guerrillas then targeted helicopters dispatched to the area to transport the dead and injured. One transport helicopter was badly hit and had to leave the area in heavy smoke without recovering the bodies.”
