On the 20th day of the ongoing siege in Hakkari’s Gever district, rural areas of Alekanan (Adaklı) and Qadyan (Kadıköy) villages and Orşe area to the southwest of the district were bombed by Turkish forces yesterday evening. Several Cobra type helicopters taking off from District Division Command rained bombs on the rural areas for hours.

The hilltops of Elver (Altınoluk) and Peylan (Güçlü) villages to the east of the district also went under fire from armored vehicles and shelled with tanks.

Helicopter activity and the bombing continued intermittently until the morning.
