State forces, failing to break the popular resistance in Hakkari's Gever (Yüksekova) district, have started bombing Güngör and Cumhuriyet neighborhoods, where popular resistance continues, with mortar, artillery and howitzer fire last night.

On the 24th day of the popular resistance against genocidal attacks, bombing that started yesterday afternoon when a tank was destroyed in Cumhuriyet neighborhood continues. State forces, facing YPS and YPS-JIN resistance in Cumhuriyet and Güngör neighborhoods that they try to enter with tanks and dozens of armored vehicles, continue their bombing with howitzers, artillery and mortars.

Gunfire can be heard from the neighborhoods where hundreds of houses have been destroyed under the bombs, particularly in areas where the two neighborhoods meet. Dozens of military armored vehicles were dispatched to the neighborhoods of resistance and Şemdinli road in the morning.

On the 6th day of the siege under the guise of a “curfew”, Cobra type armored vehicles are constantly patrolling the Vezirli (Vezirava) village and Çimenli fields in the district where 1500 people live and harass citizens leaving their homes.

Gendarmerie outpost in Büyükçiftlik (Xirvate) town, 25 kilometers away from the district center, shot 3 aircraft flares toward the mountainous area and went on raking the hills with heavy weapons.
