Guerillas hit Turkish soldiers in Cudi region

HPG hit a Turkish army military camp in the Cudi mountains. In Southern Kurdistan, the Turkish Air Force carried out several air strikes, killing two civilians.

The Press Office of the People's Defense Forces (HPG) has released a statement detailing a guerrilla action in the province of Şırnak in Northern Kurdistan and the recent air attacks of the Turkish army on the Medya Defense Zones in Southern Kurdistan.

According to the statement, guerrillas targeted a Turkish military camp in the Cudi mountains located between the Bêspin and Çelê Xwişk û Bira hills on April 28. While the positions and shelters of the Turkish army were struck effectively, the number of dead or injured could not be determined. After the casualties were evacuated from the area by helicopters, the Turkish military bombed the surrounding area at random, but HPG did not suffer any losses.

Air raids on guerrilla zones

On April 27, the Turkish Air Force bombed the Xantur area in Heftanin and Yekmalê area in Metina. On 28 April, air raids took place on Deşta Nehlê in Gare, Mervanos in Avashin as well as Goshine and Berbizina in Xakurke.

The HPG press office said: “Guerrillas suffered no losses in these bombings. Two civilians named Fakher Tazewared and Rashid Miroir died during the air raid of the fascist Turkish army in Xakurke region on the border of Rojhilat [Eastern Kurdistan]. They were deliberately attacked by the Turkish occupying army. We express our condolences to their relatives and all the patriotic people of Kurdistan.”
