HPG (People's Defense Forces) and YJA-Star (Free Women's Troops) guerillas celebrated Newroz with the fires they built, slogans and halays in the high hilltops of Martyr Rüstem Cudi refugee camp (Makhmur).

Newroz celebrations have started with great enthusiasm in Makhmur as in every region of Kurdistan. HPG and YJA-Star guerillas stated that this year the Newroz fire will be Kurdistan’s freedom.

The Newroz fire lit by the guerillas in the night continued into the early hours with halay and zılgıt. The words “BIJÎ SEROK APO” were also caught on camera, written in large capital letters.
