The HPG Press Centre released a statement on new actions being carried out by the guerrillas in Hakkari and Sidekan region.
According to the press release the actions were carried out in the context of the Martyr Pîroz and Martyr Agirî Revolutionary Campaign.
Here the full statement:
"Our forces carried out actions against the invading Turkish army. The details of the actions within this scope and its results are as following;
On May 28, at 11:00, our forces carried out an action against Tisê outpost of the occupying Turkish army in Hakkari's Şemzînan (Semdinli) district. Four enemy soldiers were killed in the action where positions and shelters in the outpost were struck effectively.
On the same day, at 17.20, our YJA Star forces carried out an action against the occupying forces located on the Evdilkofi hill in Sideka region within the territory of Southern Kurdistan. Five soldiers were killed in the action where enemy positions and tents were struck effectively. After the action, the occupying forces bombarded the area with howitzers and mortars.
Again on the same day, at 19.10 hours, our forces carried out an action against the occupying Turkish army deployed on the Koordine hill in Hakkari’s Çelê (Çukurca) district. The number of dead and wounded soldiers could not be determined in the action where enemy positions came under intense fire.
On May 24, at 00.10 and on May 26, at 19.00, our forces carried out two actions against enemy soldiers positioned on the Şundirê hill in Hakkari's Çelê district. The number of dead and wounded soldiers in this action could not be determined.
On May 27, the occupying Turkish army tried to carry out set downs by Sikorsky helicopters on the Bilgeç outpost in the Ovacık district of Dersim. Within the scope of the Martyr Ozan and Martyr Roza Revolutionary Campaign launched in the area, on the same day at 17.20, our guerrilla forces targeted these helicopters. As a result of the effective hits, the Sikorsky-type helicopters forced to retreat from the area.
On May 28, at 10.20, the occupying Turkish army wanted to construct a military checkpoint in the Tatvan and Hizan highway in Bitlis. Our forces carried out an action targeting the occupying Turkish army in this area. The number of dead and wounded soldiers could not be determined in the action which forced the enemy unit to withdraw from the area.
On May 25, the occupying Turkish army launched an operation in the area of Geliyê Kotranıs in Hakkari with the support of unmanned aerial vehicles. on the same day, at 18.00, our forces carried out an action against a disguised unit which participated in the operation. Six soldiers were killed and three others were wounded in this enemy unit.
On May 26, between 06:00 and 13:00, violent conflicts occurred between our forces and the occupying forces in various areas. In the conflicts, one enemy soldier was killed and three soldiers were wounded. At the same time, our guerrilla by the name Baz (Ayhan Sönmez) was wounded and was taken captive by the occupying Turkish army. Throughout the conflicts, the occupying Turkish army intensively bombed the area with attack-type helicopters and warplanes. The operation was withdrawn from the area on March 28.
On May 26, we had announced that the invading Turkish forces launched an operation after the action carried out against a newly built outpost in the Eldê neighbourhood of Hakkari’s Şemzînan district by our forces. This was also followed by actions against the enemy’s operation forces. In the actions and conflicts, three special operations members of the enemy were killed and eight special operations members were wounded. We have publicly announced that two of our comrades were martyred in the same conflicts".
