Mothers of guerrillas demand explanation for three missing guerrillas

Guerrilla mothers called on the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) to explain the aftermath of the guerrillas who have been unaccounted since they were attacked by KDP forces in Xelifan district of South Kurdistan.

The invading Turkish state has been attacking the guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones in South Kurdistan (North Iraq) since April 23. While the guerrillas have been waging peerless resistance to repulse the attacks, the Turkish state, unable to accomplish any progress through the intensified attacks, has used the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) for its own interests.

On July 26, the KDP forces attacked a group of guerrillas in the Bexme village of Xelifan district in South Kurdistan. This guerrilla group has been unaccounted for since that day. Speaking to ANHA, mothers of guerrillas in Rojava called for an explanation by the KDP.

‘We do not want fratricide’

Xedice Eli, mother of the guerrilla Tekoşer, said, “The forces allied to Masoud Barzani attacked the guerrillas. In consequence of this attack, two guerrillas fell as martyrs and some of them were kidnapped. We call for the kidnapped guerrillas to be released. We are all brothers and sisters. We do not want an intra-Kurd war. We will not give up our guerrillas and we will follow their path till the end.”

Calling on the KDP officials to stop standing with Erdogan and fighting against their Kurdish siblings, Xedice Eli urged the KDP to announce the aftermath of the guerrillas.

‘Masoud Barzani claims that he is Kurdish but fights against us’

Fedile Mistefa Xelil, mother of the guerrilla Tolhildan said, “We are guerrilla mothers and do not want fratricide. We condemn the anti-Kurd and anti-guerrilla policies of the KDP. The Turkish state is the enemy of the Kurds. Therefore, it fights the Kurds. Masoud Barzani, who claims to be Kurdish, fights against the Kurds, as well. We demand the situation of the kidnapped guerrillas to be explained immediately.”

‘We should fight against the Turkish state together’

Likewise, Cihan Umer, mother of martyrs Sariya and Qehreman, stressed that they reject the intra-Kurd war before the eyes of the Turkish state and said, “We should fight against the Turkish state all together. The KDP should make the situation of the guerrillas public. This incident serves the Turkish state. The KDP has also disallowed the family of guerrilla Dijwar Berxwedan to cross into South Kurdistan seeking to be informed of their children’s situation.”
