New Year Newroz, which represents the desire for freedom for the peoples of Kurdistan, has been celebrated without massive participation in four parts of Kurdistan this year due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Guerrillas lit Newroz bonfire in the mountains of Kurdistan to welcome the new year. Celebrating Newroz with great enthusiasm despite the ongoing genocidal attacks of the Turkish state, guerrillas danced around the fire, remembered the martyrs of the freedom struggle and wished a happy Newroz to Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Öcalan and the peoples of the Middle East.
