Guerrillas hit soldiers in Amed, Siirt and Hakkari
4 soldiers and 1 contra unit member were killed in the action guerrillas carried out against the Turkish troops that had launched an operation in Amed.
HPG Press Office issued a statement on the Turkish army operations in Besta and Amed and the guerilla actions in Siirt and Çukurca.
AMED
According to the HPG statement, the Turkish army launched an operation in Martyr Êriş region in Amed countryside in the evening of May 10. Soldiers were airdropped in the Serê Spi, Oberka, Shin, Kozmê, Zengok, Tarkuş and Martyr Baran areas with Cobra helicopters accompanied by drones at around 04:00 on May 11.
4 soldiers and 1 contra unit member were killed in an action YJA Star guerillas carried out in Martyr Baran region at 11:30 on the same day. HPG said this action was carried out to commemorate the guerrillas martyred in Amed.
The Turkish army expanded its operation to the slopes of Andok on May 12. Cobra helicopters bombarded the 15 Tebax Hill on the same day. Turkish soldiers killed the livestock of civilians in Karahamza village during the operation, which ended at the night of May 13.
BESTA
The Turkish army launched an operation in Şırnak’s Besta region at 21:00 on May 9 and soldiers got positioned on the slopes of Herekol and Piro hills as well as in the areas of Kaniya Cennetê, Xırbıkê Bestê and Dola Sar.
Guerrillas hit the soldiers at Osyan outpost at 06:30 on May 10, and the soldiers positioned on the slopes of Xırbıkê Bestê on the same day. While the number of soldiers that died or got injured in these actions could not be clarified, Turkish army helicopters retrieved the dead and injured soldiers from the scene at night. Clashes broke out between guerrillas and soldiers in the Martyr Resul area on May 12, and continued until May 13. HPG added that more information on these clashes and operations will be shared with the public later on.
SİİRT
Guerrillas hit a disguised Turkish army unit they had spotted in the Çemê Karê area in Siirt’s Pervari district on May 15. The number of soldiers that died and got in this action could not be clarified.
ÇUKURCA
YJA Star guerrillas carried out a targeted action against the Turkish soldiers positioned at Koordine Hill in Hakkari’s Çelê (Çukurca) district at 14:00 on May 14, as result of which one soldier was killed.
