The Press Center of the People's Defense Forces (HPG) has released a statement providing information on a military operation by the Turkish army in the Zap region and massive air strikes on the Medya Defense Zones in Southern Kurdistan, Northern Iraq.
According to the statement, the Turkish army launched a military operation on Saturday morning in the area between Kinyaniş and Dola Bîra in the Zap region. On November 14 at 2.30 a.m., Kinyaniş was bombed by fighter jets. The operation was extended today to Qela Bêdewê and Girê Şehîd Mûnzûr areas. Between 8:15 a.m. and 8:40 a.m., the operational units were stopped three times by the guerrillas with explosives. According to HPG, several soldiers were killed or injured in the actions, and there are no exact figures on the Turkish army's losses. The operation continues.
Air attacks on the Medya Defense Zones
Regarding the recent air attacks on the guerrilla areas in Southern Kurdistan, the HPG press office said that on November 13, the areas of Tîpa T and Kunîşka in the Zap region, the areas of Kozînê, Dola Şehidan, Dola Bedranan and Geliyê Suredê as well as the villages of Enzê, Bolê, Şêxan, Dêreşê and Bêtala in the Qandil Mountains and the Sinînê area in Xakurke region were bombed. On November 14, air raids were carried out on Serê Metîna and the surroundings of Bazê village in the Metina region.
