Guerrillas hit Turkish soldiers on operation in Hakkari

HPG guerrillas targeted the Turkish soldiers partaking in an operation in the countryside of Hakkari, which reportedly resulted in casualties.

The operation launched by the Turkish army in Hakkari’s Oremar and Sümbül areas on September 11 continues. According to local sources, guerrilla forces carried out an action targeting the Turkish soldiers in Girê Berxa area Monday (September 18) evening.

Reports suggest that the guerrilla action has resulted in casualties among Turkish troops, but details were not immediately available.

In the meantime, the Turkish military operation in Mount Cilo in Hakkari countryside also continues. Sporadic clashes are taking place in the operation zone amid Turkish aerial activity.

On the other hand, Turkish warplanes shelled Mount Shekif in Xakurkê and the Berxelê area in Avashin region at 17:00 Monday afternoon. Detailed information on the aerial bombardment is not available yet.
