Guerrillas hit Turkish soldiers on operation in Hakkari

HPG guerrillas targeted the soldiers partaking in an operation in Hakkari countryside, which left one soldier dead and many others wounded.

Local sources report that HPG guerrillas carried out an action targeting the Turkish forces joining a military operation on Hill Bayrak in the countryside of Hakkari province, Northern Kurdistan at 16:00 Thursday afternoon.

One soldier was killed as result of the action and many others were wounded as clashes are reported to be continuing amid strikes by the fighter jets.

In the meantime, local sources stated that the operation launched by the Turkish army in Sümbül and Oremar regions on September 11 still continues. Soldiers have been airdropped in Cilo region and the operation has been expanded.

On the other hand the Turkish army shelled Avashin’s Dola Konferansa area and Zap’s Çiyaye Reş area Thursday evening.
