Guerrillas strike Turkish outpost in Çukurca

The HPG provide information about a guerrilla attack on a Turkish outpost in Çukurca and the latest air attacks on the Medya Defense Zones.

The Press Center of the People's Defense Forces (HPG) informs in a recent statement about a guerrilla action on a Turkish military base in Çukurca, Hakkari province in Northern Kurdistan and the recent air attacks on the guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones in Southern Kurdistan, Northern Iraq.

The action in Çukurca was carried out at 7.30 a.m. on August 26 as part of the "Şehîd Bager and Şehîd Ronya Revolutionary Offensive" and was directed against the Girê outpost. "Positions and shelters located on the area of the base were effectively hit. The number of soldiers killed or and injured in this action could not be determined," the HPG said.

Air attacks on guerrilla areas

According to today's HPG statement, the Turkish Air Force bombed the Karker area in the Zap region on August 25 and the area around the village of Kêste in Metina, and the Amedi hill in Duhok countryside on August 27.

HPG announced the martyrdom of guerrilla fighter Sinan during an air strike on Cîlo yê Biçûk in the Zap region on August 18, adding that his full identity details will be published at a later date.
