The Press Office of People’s Defense Forces (HPG-BIM) released a written statement about the most recent actions carried out by guerrillas against the Turkish army in Zap and Avashin regions of guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan, northern Iraq.
HPG stated that guerrillas targeted two Sikorsky helicopters of the occupant Turkish army as they were moving over Zap region at 15:30 on November 16. Both helicopters were put under intense fire and forced to retreat, said the HPG.
At 14:30 on November 17, guerrillas targeted another Sikorsky helicopter of the Turkish army as it was flying over Avashin region. The helicopter was hit with effective strikes which forced it to retreat from the region.
HPG-BIM announced that Turkish warplanes carried out strikes on Zap region on November 11, as result of which guerrillas Andok and Agır fell as martyrs.
