Guerrillas are in preparation against attacks targeting Medya Defense Zones, keep watch 24 hours a day, and state that they would respond to every possible attack.
Aerial defense systems that guerrillas call ‘dushka’ are a new lifestyle for the guerrillas that keep guard of the skies from the ground. Guerrillas are on watch 24 hours a day in the mountain lines that lie across Kurdistan, and use BKC rifles and other types of heavy weaponry as well as dushkas. Guerrillas also warn one another through the line of communications established for the possibility of land and aerial incursions into guerrilla zones.
‘WE WILL NOT STAY SILENT IN THE FACE OF ATTACKS’
Stationed at the highest point of Medya Defense Zones, guerrilla Derviş Şino uses a 12,5 doçka and said that they were prepared for any type of aerial attack. Şino noted that the negotiation and solution process that developed after the Newroz of 2013 ended with Turkish army air strikes that began on July 24. Şino pointed out that these attacks actually began on April 5 with the isolation of Leader Apo, and the attacks on Medya Defense Zones, massacres of civilians, political genocide operations, and military operations were aiming to carry out more massacres by channeling the masses to the streets. As the militants of the Kurdish Freedom Movement, Şino stated that they would not stay silent in the face of attacks, and that they were prepared in order to prevent the enemy from being successful.
Botan Şırnak who uses a BKC rifle added that they were fully prepared for possible land and aerial attacks on Medya Defense Zones.
