Peoples' United Revolutionary Movement (HBDH) guerrilla fighter İmera Fera spoke to ANF about the Turkish invasion attacks against guerrilla-held Medya Defence Zones in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq).

“The freedom guerrillas have always put up historic resistance in Zap and Avaşin. Currently, a new resistance is being mounted. The defeat of the invaders will again be the victory of the freedom guerrillas. As the guerrillas of the Peoples’ United Revolutionary Movement, we are taking our position against Turkish invasion together with our HPG and YJA-Star comrades,” Yeşilgöz said.

“This war we are waging is the freedom war of the peoples of Turkey and Kurdistan. As the peoples and revolutionaries of Turkey, we must spread the fire of resistance that has been lit in the mountains of Kurdistan, in Zap and Avashin to Turkish cities such as Izmir, Ankara and Mersin,” she added.

“Currently, the invading Turkish state, which is attacking the mountains of Kurdistan, is murdering the revolutionaries in the prisons of Turkey. It is the same enemy that drops bombs in Medya Defense Zones and murders revolutionaries in Turkey. In this sense, Turkey's revolutionary struggle cannot be considered separately from the Medya Defense Zones. The united revolutionary forces should bring the invaders to account for every bomb dropped on the mountains of Kurdistan. All the peoples and the revolutionaries of Turkey should know that we are fighting the most important war in our history. In this war, the liberation of Turkey’s working class and the oppressed, the freedom of the Kurdish people, and the future of Turkey’s revolution are closely interconnected to the victory of the Kurdish freedom struggle,” the female fighter remarked.

“More than ever, we must raise the flag of the revolutionary struggle and stoke up the fire of our united revolutionary struggle against all enemy positions. We must believe in our victory, and we must hit the enemy forces hard. We are the comrades of Şoreş Beytüşşebap and Serhat Giravis, the fighters of Sinan Dersim and Ulaş Adalı. Our commanders and comrades showed us how we should fight this war, and they showed the path to victory with the revolutionary values ​​they created. Our duty is to lead this struggle to victory by following in the footsteps of the resistance of our precursors. We do not hesitate to pay a price for this cause. It is our call to all the peoples of Turkey, the working class and the oppressed; the revolution is close as long as we do our part. Take your place in this revolutionary war, join the ranks of the united revolution against the AKP and MHP fascism and against Turkish occupation. Once again, we commemorate all our comrades who were martyred in this revolutionary struggle,” she concluded.
