HDP calls for an end to the silence on Turkish invasion

HDP South Kurdistan representation called upon all organizations and political forces in South Kurdistan to voice their reaction against the attacks.
The Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) representation in Hewler (Erbil) held a press conference regarding the Turkish state’s invasion operation against southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq).
The press statement read by HDP Hewlêr representative Hikmet Hatip underlined that the Turkish state’s increasingly ongoing attacks against the Kurdish people do not offer a solution to any problem but, on the contrary, deepen the already existing economic, political and social issues.
“Those who remain silent in the face of attacks will be overwhelmed with a heavy responsibility against fascism. We appeal to all circles who demand freedom; do not remain silent against attacks and thus not help to prolong the life of the fascist AKP-MHP government. The Kurdistan Regional Government should not remain silent either, and not sacrifice the Kurdish people to the attacks. We call upon all organizations and political forces to voice their reaction against the attacks,” said the HDP statement.
Asked about the approach of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Hikmet Hatip stated that, “All the Kurds have the right to live anywhere in Kurdistan. For this reason, their silence and response regarding the attacks is not moral.”
