“LET US RAISE OUR VOICE AGAINST THIS BARBARITY”

Educators’ union Eğitim-Sen Batman Branch Co-chair Mehmet Necati Dadak spoke on behalf of Batman Democracy Platform and stressed the importance of Hasankeyf's history, saying:  "Hasankeyf survived the Mongolian invasion but will be submerged by the Ilısu Dam now.

The blowing up of the Darphane (Mint) Castle with dynamite also damages the other structures in addition to ruining the natural structure of the castle. Destroying historical heritage is a barbaric act, against which we will raise our voice.”

Dadak also called for public support and solidarity for Hasankeyf.

After the statement, the delegation examined the castle which was blown up with dynamite.
