In the town of Hilal in Uludere, Şırnak, relatives and brother of AKP town municipality mayor Cafer Benek wanted to cast votes on behalf of residents who are not staying in the town.

HDP ballot officer Feyzi Kara then raised an objection, upon which he was brutally battered by Benek’s relatives.

Following the savage attack which took place in front of dozens of soldiers, Kara was rushed to hospital by his relatives. The HDP officer has suffered critical injuries and he is reported to be in stable condition.
