HDP MP for Adıyaman, Behçet Yıldırım was detained at Adıyaman Airport before leaving for Ankara Monday morning.

Yıldırım was facing an arrest warrant due to his non-attendance in the hearing held at 1st High Criminal Court on February 17 as part of an indictment Adıyaman Chief Public Prosecutor prepared against him on 6 separate files.

In Adıyaman province, Turkish President Tayyip Erdoğan asked for votes from the supporters of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), which has 12 deputies in jail, including co-chairs Figen Yüksekdağ and Selahattin Demirtaş. The other imprisoned deputies of the HDP are: Ayhan Bilgen, Meral Manış Beştaş, Selma Irmak, Abdullah Zeydan, Gülser Yıldırım, Nursel Aydoğan, Çağlar Demirel, Besime Konca, Nihat Akdoğan and Ferhat Encü.
