HDP MPs: We have started a process for the downfall of fascism

HDP deputies, who are continuing the Resistance Vigil in the city of Amed stated that their activity is representing the common desire of the whole society.

Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) deputies for Istanbul, Hüda Kaya and Garo Paylan, who partake in the Resistance Vigil in Amed, stated that they consider their action to be the beginning of a process for the freedom of the whole country and downfall of fascism. Kaya and Paylan assessed the Resistance Vigil for the ANF.

“ALL SIDES SHOULD RESIST”

Kaya said that by means of a single activity one cannot reach its aim in Turkey where the AKP regime has deprived all humans and living beings of their rights. Kaya explained: "Those who used to say, 'here is the political stage so why don't they come down from the mountains and make politics instead', have now obstructed all ways to democratic politics and are redesigning the whole policy-making in the Parliament with fascistic stains."

Kaya stressed that the attacks of the AKP are aimed at the bread and values of the people, saying that all sides and parties need to resist against the AKP regime.

“WE HAVE COMMENCED A LONG-TERM STRUGGLE”

Kaya stated that their Resistance Vigil in Amed is one of historic proportions and continued: "We are opposing a regime that makes efforts to establish fascistic ideals. For this reason, our struggle will be a long-term one."

Kaya also pointed out that their actions can at times change their format depending on the processes at hand, but on no account will the struggle come to a stop, adding that this Resistance Vigil was the first step of that long-term struggle.

"PEOPLE OF AMED WITH US DESPITE THE BLOCKADE"

Remarking that Turkish police and state forces are obstructing their contact with the people of Amed through barriers, Kaysa said the people wanted to join them in the vigil but were not allowed by the state forces.

“WITH THIS ACTION WE CAME AROUND ONCE MORE”

Istanbul HDP deputy Garo Paylan drew the attention to the importance of resistance everywhere, at squares, in parks and on streets, saying: "We have started a resistance that has the capacity to incorporate all sides and parties into an all-out resistance. Our struggle continues and we will carry it on with great resoluteness."

CALL TO THE PEOPLE OF AMED

Garo Paylan ended, calling on the people of Amed to ensure strong participation in the noise-making protests every evening during the course of the vigil.
