According to information ANF has obtained, the Turkish soldiers joining the operation in Hakkari’s Şemdinli district were hit by an explosive trap of the guerrillas on August 5. The blast that occurred as a Sikorsky helicopter airdropped soldiers on the coordination hill left more than 10 Turkish soldiers dead.
The soldiers killed here include those from the coordination force of the operation in the region, as result of which the operation was partially retreated and some military units remain hidden in the area.
On the other hand, guerrillas carried out an action targeting the Rubarok Battalion and surroundings on August 5. Several emplacements here were hit, and a building and many vehicles burned as result of the action, while details regarding the number of casualties left here are not clear yet.
Guerrillas also hit the Koordine Hill in Çukurca Monday morning, which has reportedly left 4 soldiers dead.
