Within the scope of the Martyr Pîroz and Martyr Agirî Revolutionary Campaign, on May 31, guerrilla forces carried out actions against the occupying Turkish army in Hakkari and Southern Kurdistan.

According to the HPG Press Office, the actions carried out within this scope are as follows;

“At 05.00 hours, our forces carried out an action against an enemy hill near the Bêzeno village in Hakkari’s Şemzînan (Şemdinli) district. One position and two tents were destroyed on the enemy hill which was put under fire from three arms. Two enemy soldiers were identified killed in this action.

Our forces have put under surveillance disguised units on the move on some hills around the Ali Dirêj valley in the Bradost region of Sidakan in the territory of Southern Kurdistan.

An enemy unit which was put under surveillance for a long time was targeted by our forces on a hill near the Ali Dirêj valley at 08.30 hours. Five enemy soldiers have been identified killed in this enemy unit which was hit effectively in close range from two arms. Our forces have gone over the bodies of the soldiers here, seizing two HK-33 (Hybrid) guns, one BKC weapon, one pair of day binoculars, one aim pointer, and many military life materials.

Our forces have also simultaneously put under intense fire enemy soldiers positioned by the Ali Dirêj valley. The number of dead and wounded soldiers in this action could not be determined. Following the actions, the occupying Turkish army carried away it's dead and wounded from the area with Sikorsy helicopters, supported by Cobra helicopters.

Once again, at 08.30, our forces carried out an action against invaders positioned on the Lêlîkan hill in the Bradost region. One enemy soldier has been killed in the enemy positions which were effectively hit.

Also, at 12.30, our forces carried out an assassination action against the invading soldiers on the Bayrak hill in the Bradost region of Southern Kurdistan, and one soldier was killed here.”
