Heavy clashes continue from last night in Mardin's Nusaybin district where attacks by state forces have intensified after the imposition of a “curfew”.

Neighborhoods were shelled after Civil Defense Units YPS and YPS JIN resisted the attacks.

On the 12th day of the state of siege in Nusaybin, state forces attacked the neighborhoods with heavy weapons until the early hours of the morning. Turkish forces trying to enter the neighborhoods, where YPS and YPS JIN forces are continuing their resistance under heavy attacks, had to retreat several times because of the popular resistance.

Upon a failure to enter the neighborhoods, state forces are trying to advance by demolishing houses with tank and artillery fire, turning most houses into rubble due to the heavy attacks.

Artillery fire towards the neighborhoods from tanks stationed on İpekyolu and Newroz areas continued until the morning. With the break of dawn the neighborhoods were attacked again. 3 ambulances were seen to be heading to the neighborhoods in the early morning where powerful explosions could be heard occasionally.

At least 7 special operations forces were killed in Nusaybin in the last two days.
