Heyva Sor helps flood victims in Qandil

The Kurdish aid organization Heyva Sor a Kurdistanê supports the victims of heavy rainfall in Qandil region of southern Kurdistan, northern Iraq.
According to a press release by the Kurdish aid organization Heyva Sor a Kurdistanê, the population of Bînarê Qandil affected by floods and rainfall has been given 200,000 euros worth of aid.
The villages in the Qandil Mountains were completely flooded on 26th October. Due to the flooding, schools, hospitals, gardens and vineyards were damaged. In addition, twelve bridges were destroyed, 27 roads blocked, the water supply system of 15 villages damaged, three health centers, three mosques and two schools torn down. The vineyards and gardens as well as the beehives of the local people suffered serious damage.
The 200,000 euros will be used as part of a joint aid plan of the administration of Bînarê Qandil and Heyva Sor. The community of Kurdistan societies (KCK) had previously provided the flooding victims with $ 200,000 aid.
