Houses in Gever and Mexsûdava village set on fire

Dozens of houses in the besieged neighborhoods in Hakkari’s Gever (Yüksekova) district and the evacuated Mexsûdava village have been targeted by artillery fire and set on fire by the state forces.

State forces’ “demolition” policy continue in Hakkari’s Gever district and the Mexsûdava village from where explosions and gunfire could be heard through the day. The village was hit by artillery shells and numerous houses and buildings were torn to the ground.

Smoke continues to rise from almost the entire village due to the bombing.

Sky around the village and its rural areas see Turkish helicopter activity occasionally.

The looting disguised as “search missions” also continue in Gever town center. Dozens of homes in the district’s Esentepe, Esenyurt, Yeşildere, Dize, Orman, Eski Kışla, Mezarlık, Cumhuriyet and Güngör neighborhoods were hit by artillery shells, doused by gas and set on fire.

Smoke was seen rising from the city through the day due to the fires.

The fire brigade wasn’t allowed to interfere with the fires.
